"Cross-Shaped Recovery is a fellowship of people who seek relief from their addiction through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no cost to join or participate; the only qualification for membership is a desire to stop our addictive behaviors. We are not affiliated with any church, charity or outside recovery program. We are peer-led, not professionals. We believe Christ crucified for sinners is the only hope we have in life and recovery, hence as a fellowship we do not hold any opinions on unrelated causes or controversies.Â
We adapt AA's Twelve Steps and Traditions to align with confessionally Lutheran theology. We believe the Christian wisdom embodied in the Twelve Steps, combined with the God-given means of grace, is a uniquely powerful help in recovery. We recognize there are no quick cures for addiction, but we rejoice that God's grace is sufficient for us even in the midst of our weakness." -CSR Preamble
